TAMI Two-Piece Swimsuit
Our apparel design team developed this two-piece bikini for beginner surfers in small waves.
Are you an intermediate surfer?
Do you surf regularly? During training, you paddle in a straight line and duck under broken waves on a shortboard, bodyboard, or longboard, then ride waves that are less than one meter high. You will show commitment in strong waves over one meter high. Therefore, your swimwear must meet your requirements and stay put during all movements. We designed a collection suitable for regular intensive training and body shape.
Body-hugging design
The Tami Halterneck swimsuit features a carefully designed inner fabric that stays put in the waves. The adjustable tie allows the surfer to adapt the swimsuit to fit the chest area. The halterneck shape provides sufficient coverage to ensure the product stays well on the body in the waves.
This product stays put in waves: the test
We designed swimwear to stay put in waves. To test it, we enlisted a group of surfers with different body shapes who followed a testing protocol in a swimming pool at our design headquarters in Hendaye, France. This protocol aims to simulate the experience surfers have when being thrown by waves. If this test is conclusive, we then go surfing in the sea to try out our swimwear in real conditions.
What are the padded cups?
A padded cup is a piece of foam integrated into the swimsuit. Our customers can decide whether they want to keep the padding or not, as it can be completely removed from the swimsuit. The wearer can add or remove the padded cups. The main idea behind this padding is to protect the modesty of teenage girls. Padded cups hide the nipples, which can be visible when the swimsuit is wet. This leaves it up to the wearer whether to keep them in or remove them.
Girls' swimwear sizes
At Decathlon, we design swimsuits for young surfers with their growth in mind. That's why we systematically link a child's height to their size, as age alone is not enough to guarantee the correct fit. Two ten-year-old girls can have different heights, weights, and body shapes, leading to different body measurements. We also recommend trying on swimwear in-store if possible.
Girls' swimsuit sizes
Here is the relationship between age and height on swimsuit labels: 7/8 years: 125 to 132 cm, 8/9 years: 133 to 142 cm, 10/11 years: 143 to 150 cm, 12/13 years: 151 to 160 cm, 14/15 years: 161 to 169 cm
Dry fit vs. wet fit
To ensure perfect support in the water, it is important to choose the right size when dry because once you enter the water, the swimsuit becomes more flexible. Therefore, we recommend buying the correct size. The swimsuit should feel snug when trying it on in the fitting room; it should feel like it supports your body. The elastane material used in some of our swimwear designs softens and provides a relaxed feeling in the water.
Do you want to exchange your swimsuit?
Is the size or model not suitable for you? Would you like to exchange it at a Decathlon store? No problem, just make sure not to cut the brand tag on the swimsuit if you wish to exchange it.
Olayan, Decathlon's surfing brand
Our headquarters are located in Hendaye, France. Olayan is Decathlon's new brand for surfing and bodyboarding. Our headquarters are on the beach, which allows us to design swimwear and then test it on the same day directly in the sea to ensure it stays in place.
What is the Olayan brand?
Tribord surfing products are now Olayan products, Decathlon's new brand dedicated to surfing and bodyboarding. Gradually, the brands for all our surfing products will be replaced. This is why your product may have a different logo than the one shown in the product image.
